Roomie Road Trip

Katie, one of my lovely roomies, and I made "Summer to-do List" as we had been seeing on Pinterest. Unfortunately, we have sucked at being able to mark anything off. So we both got the time off of work to take a road trip so that we could mark a few things off!  It just so happened that it was the Fourth of July and my family was willing to let us crash for the week.

I have never been one who is able to drive long distances. I have no problem sleeping in the passenger seat for 10 hour drives, but you stick me in the drivers seat its the end of the world. Luckily Katie drives home quite a bit and she lives like 12 hours away. Anyways, we made it work... We kept sane with music, ( 90's pop, High School Musical, Country Jamssss, etc.) hardcore car dancing, and lots of giggling.

The first day we drove to Omaha to stay with her very sweet Aunt Jan and Uncle Ted. It was gonna take us about 8 hours, so we took a picture each hour to see how we were doin...

Start of the trip...
Hour One...
Some arch thing??
Hour Two..
Hour Three..
Hour Four... Im not quite sure why were holding up one finger
because we most certainly did not have only one hour to go...
Hour Five..

And Six..
And there goes the sun with hour six..

Hour Seven!

Eight! Almost there!

We hit construction at hour eightish and Katie was going crazy with a 55 speed limit.. We finally hit 75 speed limit and Katie screamed "777777555555!" out of pure excitement.

On our way into Omaha, we were able to see all the fire work shows from all over the city. It was so beautiful!

When we finally got to her Aunt and Uncle's house, we spent a relaxing evening eating Ice Cream and enjoying a very humid Nebraska evening.
Their cute puppy Cali:)
The next morning they were so sweet to make us a huge brunch and send us on our way to my house for the fourth celebrations! Luckily, Des Moines is only about 2 hours out from Omaha so it made for a quick trip!

Hour one, day two:)

We finally made it home in time for the fourth celebrations!
Stay tuned for the rest of the road trip tomorrow...

Until Next Time,

Jasmine
